Well, Why Not?

when my dad was in college he had a friend who told a girl he’d take her on a date unlike any other she’d ever been on and so he took her to the supermarket to watch the lobsters fighting in the lobster tank

they’re married now

Probably one of the best love stories I’ve ever read, to be honest.

I bought my friend an elephant for their room.

They said “Thank you.”

I said “Don’t mention it.”

Is there a joke here that 15 thousand people get but I don’t?

There is a joke… But we don’t talk about it

aaaaand that latest comment wins it for me.

So a friend of mine converted from Christianity to another religion and apparently his mother all but disowned him. I’m having trouble helping him through this issue, despite the fact that it’s something that I went through a few years ago (my mother has obviously since came around and we are much closer). When I went through the predicament he is going through now, I was already pretty estranged from my mother so I didn’t particularly care what she thought but he is (was I guess) a lot closer to his.

I really don’t know how to help him through this because this is such a bigger deal to him. I tried to encourage him by telling him that in time she may come around but… I just don’t know.
